This is a picture of me in middle school. I was 5 foot 3 inches, 186 pounds and living in what could have possibly been the best Christmas of my life, but it was probably the most miserable. That year I got a severe case of pneumonia on Christmas eve and was actually checked into the hospital the night of Christmas day.
I had already been so unhappy with myself and my weight. I hated the way I looked, and had been through some rough years with bullying and friends. I didn’t know what else to do, so I continued to eat my feelings away thus spiraling down further.
When I came out of the hospital I found out that I had lost 7 pounds. 7 whole pounds? That was unbelievable! And that was just being sick. This is the moment I simultaneously bottomed out my health, and decided to turn my life around.
I ended up losing almost 50 pounds between my 8th grade and freshman year of high school shooting up 7 to 8 inches in the process.
8 years later I am a fitness obsessed, calorie counting, research engine, body analyzing machine that refuses to go back to how he was. I love my life now that I have found balance in my love and control over what I eat as well as my physical output. This entire life experience of overcoming my weight inspired me to put this blog together, for my continuing education and hopefully yours too.
